Patio Furniture Clean up easy as 1, 2, 3.

Taking care of your patio furniture will help it last and last. Factors such as wind, rain and mildew take their toll on outdoor furniture. Here's how to spruce up your patio furniture to keep it at its best.

1. Sweep it out. This is the easiest way to keep your patio furniture clean and should be done regularly. Cobwebs, bugs, and bird droppings collect quickly. No one wants to sit or eat on something that has not been swept. Be sure to also pick up stray leaves and sweep up dirt from around your outdoor furniture.

2. Spruce it up. This will make the patio furniture look more appealing. Wipe down outdoor furniture with an all purpose cleaner, which easily cleans off tough grease and grime without leaving a smeary residue. Choose the wrong cleaner and you could ruin clothing and paint or finishes. Be sure it will not leave a residue by reading the label and then testing the product on a small inconspicuous area.

3. Lighting is important. Do not forget the windows. You do not always need new lighting you can easily use the lighting from your home. Ambient indoor light casts a romantic evening glow on your patio, so keep your windowpanes grime-free with a cleaner specifically for windows. Some cleansers even have a special package that attaches to your garden hose—making outdoor cleaning, especially second-story windows, a cinch. It is also perfect for patio furniture, play sets and more!

Clean everything. This could include your grill to your patio chairs and tables to your planters and accent pieces. You can clean things in stages but remember that it will be bad to have a lovely grill and ugly table to eat on or chairs to sit on.

Taking a few simple steps will help you enjoy your outdoor furniture for years to come.
