Your patio furniture is big investment. You want to keep it clean and usable for years to come. Take steps now to ensure that your outdoor patio furniture is taken care of.

First consider your climate. Then find an appropriate protector. Look for a product with a mold inhibitor if you live in a wet climate. For hot areas, UV protection will be a concern. Whatever product and climate you live in be sure to observe the label to see how frequently you should apply them. Since the chair is wood be sure also to seek a product that will prevent rot and insect infestation.

How do I clean my wooden Adirondack chair? Make sure the Adirondack chair is clean first by sweeping it and then using a mild soap and water scrub. Do not allow soap film to stay on your chairs. Make sure you rinse the chairs well. Some also choose a good wood cleaner and soft brush for cleaning. A pressure washer also makes cleaning quick and easy. Obtain these products at any hardware store. Be sure to rinse well and allow the wood to dry thoroughly before applying any finish.

Anytime there is a spill clean it up as quickly as possible. Some foods and beverages can really do a number on the finish of wood. The earlier you clean them up the less damage that can be done.

Adirondack chairs storage. Consider a patio chair cover when you are not using your Adirondack chairs. When you get out your covers make sure they do not have any holes or rips. If water was to get on the chairs and just sit there this might promote mildew and attract insects. If you have a shed or garage, and the space, place your Adirondack chairs there during the winter months. Remember to make sure the furniture is dry before you cover it.
